Fun for Everyone: May Half-Term at Kingston Libraries! 📚✨

 

Looking for ways to keep the kids entertained this May Half-Term? Kingston Upon Thames Libraries have you covered with a packed schedule of events! From creative writing and crafting to LEGO building, there's something for every age group to enjoy. Best of all, every single event listed is completely free to attend!

 

Fri 22 May:

 

  • Warhammer Kill Team: Colour Me Chaos (Surbiton Library) 🎨: Head to Surbiton Library to create new Kill Team colours! Pick up your sheets starting May 22nd and running until Mon 1 Jun. Winners will have their colours painted onto the new team. 9:00am–5:00pm, All Ages.

 

Saturday 23 May:

 

  • Family Games Saturdays (Old Malden Library) 🎲: Join us every other Saturday for a range of fun games. 10:00am–12:00pm, All Ages.

  • Nature Crafts (Surbiton Library) 🌿: Create a nature-themed craft. 10:30am–11:30am, Ages 3–8 BOOKING REQUIRED

  • Lego Freebuild (Hook and Chessington Library) 🧱: Design cool creations—parents must stay with children. 2:00pm–3:00pm, Ages 5+

  • Kill Team Half Term Madness (Surbiton Library) ⚔️: A Warhammer skirmish tabletop roleplaying game for both novices and experts. 2:00pm–4:00pm, Ages 10+

Tuesday 26 May:

 

  • Under the Sea Craft (Old Malden Library) 🌊: Make and decorate your very own 3D fish! 10:30am–11:30am, Ages 4+, BOOKING REQUIRED
  • Book Trust Storytime (New Malden Library) 📖: A special session sharing five shortlisted books for the Book Trust Storytime Prize. 10:30am–11:00am, Ages 0–4

  • Teddy Bear Story & Song Session (Tolworth Community Library) 🧸: A gentle session for little ones—feel free to bring your favorite teddy! 10:30am–11:30am, Ages 0–4

  • Mint Your Coin (New Malden Library) 🪙: Learn how coins tell stories about people and make your own. 2:00pm–4:00pm, Ages 5–13

  • Lego Robotics Club (Hook and Chessington Library) 🤖: A bonus session to create awesome robots! 4:00pm–5:00pm, Ages 6–14, BOOKING REQUIRED

     

Wednesday 27 May:

 

  • Imagination Station (Hook and Chessington Library) ✨: A staff-led craft activity where your imagination is the only limit! 4:00pm–5:00pm, Ages 3+

  • Paper Plants (New Malden Library)🌵: Create your own colorful plant using cut-out flowers and pom-poms. 10:00am–12:00pm, Ages 5+

  • Children's Jigsaw Puzzles (Old Malden Library) 🧩: Drop in and solve a puzzle or two. 10:00am–12:00pm, All Ages
  • Lego Freebuild (Kingston Library) 🧱: Join our Lego Freebuild session! 10am–12pm, Ages 5-12
  • Dragon Tales & Creative Writing Workshop (Tudor Drive Library) 🐉: Join local author Rebecca Rouillard for a creative writing adventure. 10:30am–11:30am, Ages 6–12
  • Bookmark Craft with Woodcraft Folk (Tolworth Community Library) 📑: Nature-inspired bookmark making. 10:30am–12:30pm, All Ages

  • Lego and Other Games (New Malden Library) 🏰: Show off your building skills or enjoy a board game. 2:00pm–4:00pm, Ages 5+

  • Van Gogh's Flowers Craft (Old Malden Library) 🌻: Get inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting and craft your own vase of flowers. 2:30pm–3:30pm, Ages 5+ BOOKING REQUIRED

  • Dragon Tales & Creative Writing Workshop (Kingston Library) 📝: Another chance to catch Rebecca Rouillard for stories and activities! 10:30am–11:30am, Ages 6–12

  • Lego Free Build (Old Malden Library) 🏗️: Drop in and build whatever you like! 10:30am–12:00pm, Ages 5+

  • LEGO Free Build Fun! (Tolworth Community Library) 🚀: Let your imagination run wild in this open building session. 10:30am–12:00pm, Ages 4–12

  • Roll a story (New Malden Library) 🎲: Roll the dice to choose your characters and write your own story! 14:00pm–16:00pm, Ages 7+
  • Storytime Stars (Hook and Chessington Library) ⭐: Fun stories, bubbles, and star stickers to kick off the weekend! 4:00pm–5:00pm, Ages 0–8
