Tudor Drive Library Friends (TuLF) have been working to create a wonderful vibrant and mindful garden for the community around Tudor Drive Library.
During the refurbishment, they uncovered an entrance to a small, underground room that suggested an unknown history to the site, before it became a library in the 1950s.
'Under the Garden' exhibition looks at the research and records TuLF undertook at the Kingston History Centre to find out more about this mysterious room, and its role during World War Two.
Also on display are other informative research pieces by TuLF:
'The History of the Tudor Estate': a look at the development of the areas, its history, and distinctive housing design and style.
'The History of Tudor Drive Library': photos from the 1950s showing the library soon after opening.
The exhibition is open to the public during the regular opening hours of Tudor Drive Library. (https://libraries.kingston.gov.uk/digital-content/libraries/library-branches/tudor-drive)
